Drop-off time is between 8.15 and 8.30am. Bookings highly recommended and very limited spots available for drop-ins on the day.
What does the Classic Service Cover:
- It's free service to current ECU student and staff
- Entails a comprehensive safety and functionality test as per People on Bicycles standards
- Covers all labour costs required to maintain a bike to a high level of safety and comfort standard
- All parts and functions of the bicycle are maintained including tuning, degreasing and lubricating
- The service covers e-bikes which will also receive a basic electrical function test (motor and lights)
- We will recommend replacement parts, if necessary. We will quote those and, if accepted, their cost will be covered by staff/student
Service Plus
For those booking their bicycle into the service who know they may need several bicycle parts replaced, can choose to upgrade their booking to our capped fee service plus (regular price $189, $90 for student and staff)
- Capped fee service plus includes all of the classic service and replacement of broken parts.
Terms and Conditions
- Classic and Plus Services at ECU are reserved for current staff and students
- Staff and student can make one booking per bicycle per visit and up to 2 bookings per year.

As a pre-requisite, bicycles must be in a rideable condition. With the exclusion of a flat tyre, bicycles that can’t be ridden because of their condition or only provided in parts, are ineligible. People on Bicycles will provide a quote for a full refurbish.
Service Plus specific conditions: - People on Bicycles can’t guarantee repairs will be completed on the day as suitable spare parts may not be available as part of our standard mobile mechanic fit out. Or, repairs may take too long preventing us to complete the agreed volume of bookings. In this instance People on Bicycles will take the bike to the warehouse, carry out service and repairs and return the bike on completion within 3 to 7 working days.
- Spare parts will be Wabi (refurbished/second hand) and fulfilling People on Bicycles level of internal assessment and match the function and quality of replaced parts. Customers wishing to replace parts with specific brands or higher-level specifications will need to cover the cost difference.
- Bikes will be assessed on arrival, and the mechanic will confirm eligibility of participation in any service.
